Mathuiri Sithganesan

Mathuiri completed her Master’s in Physiotherapy at Western University in 2021. In addition to Pathways Therapy, she is also providing orthopedic, neurological, and cardiovascular care at several units throughout Grand River Hospital. Mathuiri gained a variety of experiences during her placements, which is where she developed a strong interest in neurological rehabilitation. She is passionate about empowering clients along their rehabilitation journey by providing them the tools to return to their regular activities and improve their quality of life.

Her primary interest is the treatment of clients with brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurodegenerative diseases, and concussions. She is constantly honing her clinical skills and knowledge. She built a strong foundation on vestibular rehabilitation and concussion management. Additionally, Mathuiri has formal training on exercise prescription for adults with cardiovascular conditions such as heart disease, and has extensive experience with aquatic exercise therapy for older adults. She plans to continue her post-graduate education with a Neurodevelopmental Technique (NDT) approach to neurological rehabilitation.

Mathuiri is excited to join the Pathways Therapy team part-time! When she’s not working, she enjoys staying active with powerlifting, hiking, and learning new hobbies. If you see her in clinic, make sure to ask her what her newest adventure is!
