Speech Language Pathologist
Tanya comes to Pathways with over 20 years of Speech Language Pathology experience, graduating with her Masters in Speech Language Pathology from Western in 1995. She has worked most of this time locally, supporting children within both the school system and a children’s treatment centre. Tanya has a special interest in working with toddlers and preschoolers who are late to talk or who have social communication difficulties. As well, she has extensive experience in working with children of all ages who are non-verbal or who use Augmentative Communication.
Tanya has experience working with children with ASD, CP, and a wide range of other developmental conditions that result in complex communication disorders. Tanya focuses on family centred therapy and enjoys working closely with families to help them support their child in reaching his or her communication potential.
Tanya is also extremely excited to be offering speech and language sessions within the Pathways Equine Assisted Therapy Program. Tanya is an Individual Authorizer for the Assistive Device Program for light tech communication aids and has completed her Hanen certification “More Than Words”. She is registered with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario.
